GUADALAJARA
The so-called cultural capital of the country. With 2 football teams in the major league, huge shopping centres, outstanding theatre and breathtaking buildings you’ll be bound to come back to Guadalajara sooner than you learn how to pronounce it.
Guadalajara is located in the state of Jalisco, home of the best food in the country and Tequila. If you have big a appetite and consider yourself a gastronomic explorer, this is the place to be. Just three and a half hours away from SLP capital.
XILITLA
Within the state of SLP in the “Región Huasteca” a magic rainforest is waiting to be discovered by you. The road may not be the shortest but the landscapes of the motorway will make the five hour trip totally worth it. If you’re into outdoors activities and love green and turquoise you’ll fall in love with “Xili”. Also, the “Comida Huasteca” is a treat that will keep you happy the whole week-end. Wait no longer lads!
SAN MIGUEL DE ALLENDE
In the state of Guanajuato, just two hours away from SLP capital, you’ll find this old village. Popular among foreigners and the go-to place for Mexicans looking for sophisticated fun, San Miguel de Allende is the perfect mix between fashion, old, new, future and history. Not to mention, the right spot for a very Mexican photo-shoot and relax.
So there you go my friends, this was the first set of destinations that you MUST visit this summer! But worry not, because there are plenty more options to pursue adventure once you’re done with these. If you’re too eager to wait for the next list , go get yourself a nice map, a van and good friends… and prepare to be mesmerized by the outstanding location San Luis Potosí has within Mexico!
