Hello everyone!!! I hope you all are doing great.

I have to admit that while I was thinking about the topic for this blog I was blank. But one thing I knew, I was staaaaarving. So, I obviously let my hunger lead my writing.

If you’ve been in Mexico for a while now, you might already know what a Torta is, but for the newbies here, let me explain. A torta is a Mexican dish that has endless presentations. It is made of a “bolillo” or bread and filled with whatever you want. Seriously, WHATEVER. The advantages of this beauty is that its cooking is as easy as you make it. And it’s perfect for breakfast, lunch and dinner!

Even though they do not take much of your time to cook, I want to recommend you a few places where you’ll find mouthwatering tortas for when you feel like eating out.

Fito’s

A food stand located in the city centre. It may look simple but believe me that their tortas will make you go crazy. Just imagine enjoying a walk on a Sunday morning and finishing up with a couple of delicious tortas and a cold drink!

Oscar’s

This place is cheap and good. Their “Torta de lomo” is a perfect breakfast for the weekend. What I love about this place is the “chiles toreados” toasted chillies that go perfectly inside the torta of your choice. But don’t worry, they’re not as spicy at they look.                               Lose the fear and try it out!

El Registro

This legendary Torta place, started as a small food truck and today, there are more than a few tonterías “El Registro”.  So there’s no denying that this famous place serves the best tortas in town. You have to ask for the “Torta de lomo” and put some “salsa roja” in it.                          And do you know what is the best thing of it all? they take your order to your door! yes my friend, they have home service.

Richard’s

Richard’s is the place you want to be at if you wish to enjoy a torta with a perfect Michelada on the side while you watch a football match with your friends. When you’re there, you have to order a Torta Ventilla or (and) a Torta Ahogada. Trust me when I say you won’t regret it.

P.S. Do not forget to order a large beverage if you’re not used to spicy food.

Tortugas

These tortas are as good as they’re big. If you have a good appetite you might want to pay a visit to this place. And the more people you go with, the merrier. This way you’ll be able to exchange halves with your mates and try as many different tortas as possible.

So there you have it, my friends. These are the 5 places you can’t miss. I hope you enjoy them!

Until next time,
